We pride ourselves on the quality and freshness of our food.

Remember when you were a kid, how great it was to go out to eat with your family. You would order a Burger, Fries, Drink and a Shake and you knew what you were getting. You knew it was going to be hot and fresh. You didn’t have to worry how long it had been sitting under a heat lamp or how long the meat had been in the freezer.

We don’t have heat lamps or freezers. Your food is made fresh—when you order it.

What’s in your burger?Beef description

Angus. Ground beef. Pure ground beef. USDA inspected beef. That’s what the hamburger chains claim.
What they won’t tell you is it’s usually utility beef taken from the nose to the tail—even if it’s Angus. Other shops also rely on nose-to-tail blends from standard foodservice providers. This means that beef—regardless of where it’s taken from the cow—will be mixed with a portion of fat and made into patties, which can produce inconsistency in the meat/fat blends. Usually, seasonings, salts and other ingredients are added. The patties are then frozen and shipped to the restaurant. Doesn’t sound very appetizing.
Bucking the industry, Chadder’s searched four years for a better burger.
We did this despite being told by almost everyone in the hamburger business
it couldn’t be done; that no one would custom-make our burgers

We’d just have to buy what everyone else was using.
We weren’t going to settle. We insisted on 100% fresh, lean ground chuck—a higher cut of meat than typical beef burger—from young cows that already contains the perfect amount of fat. Then found an exceptional family-owned and operated business in Utah that would consistently produce our high quality grade of meat. The butcher even purchased special equipment to ensure we received the best meat—every time. These ground chuck patties are then rushed immediately to a Chadder’s restaurant. No salt. No seasonings. No additives. Just good, honest lean ground chuck—fresh, not frozen. (In fact, we don’t have freezer compartments in our stores. Come on in. We’ll show you!)

French Fries, Buns and more…

What kind of fries are you eating with your hamburger? Are they frozen? High in saturated and trans fats? Loaded with sodium? WebMD evaluated “small” or “regular” servings of fries at 14 of America’s most popular burger places. The biggest losers had between 400 and 540 calories, 20-25 grams of fat, 7-9 grams of saturated and trans fats, and 791-1,380 mg of sodium.

Ever wonder how French fries are processed before reaching most restaurants? A Boston Globe article revealed that McDonald’s French fries are cooked twice—once by central suppliers who “wash, steam-peel, cut, blanch, dry, par-fry and then freeze the potatoes,” and then a second time when they are cooked in vegetable oil at the restaurant.

Potatoes

At Chadder’s, we use a special variety of white potato—exclusively selected by us—because of its low sugar high starch content. We experimented with a handful of varieties before we settled on our favorite. These tasty Idaho spuds are shipped fresh and whole to our restaurants where they are stored in coolers (we don’t have freezers). Daily, the potatoes are peeled and cut by hand, briefly soaked in water to enhance their sweetness and then dried and cooked to order—the old fashioned way.

We only use 100% pure vegetable oil with zero trans-fats and the oil isn’t used for anything else—avoiding contamination.

Of course what’s a good burger without a great bun? The Rocky Mountain Bread Company created a light and tasty sweet hamburger bun for our premium burgers. They have a delicate crust and are soft and sweet. We lightly toast them to bring out their natural flavor. In taste tests, it was always the winner.

Our cheese is 100% real American cheese from Cache Valley and our shakes are made with real ice cream.

Fresh heads of crisp lettuce are washed and prepared by hand to select the choicest parts for our burgers. And all the tomatoes arrive at our stores ruby red and vine-ripened.

So why to we go through all this effort?

Because we know you’ll “Taste the Difference!”®
